The Weight of Soft Things

There are no right or wrong decisions in life—only experiences that shape us and make us stronger.

Cover for The Weight of Soft Things

One quiet evening, you find yourself walking with your knitted bag. It’s soft—impossibly soft—your favourite of all time. The little kitten stitched on the front smiles up at you, sweet and innocent. You can’t imagine going anywhere without it; it’s been part of you for so long.

But there’s a problem. The bag has grown heavy—unbearably so. Each step feels harder, your shoulders ache, your back bends under its weight. You wish you could take some things out, make it lighter. But you can’t. The only way forward is to let it go.

So you stand there for a moment, take a deep breath, loosen your grip, and let it go.

Are you relieved? Yes.
Are you happy? Maybe.
Who can say?

There are no right or wrong decisions in life—only experiences that shape us and make us stronger.
